The SAPIENS project is complete. SAPIENS has produced an operational electronic journal publishing service. The final report on the project is available from the Documents section of this web site.

The SAPIENS project was funded by the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council and had the formal endorsement of the Scottish Confederation of University and Research Libraries. It aimed to examine the case for a centralised Scottish electronic journal service which might enable and encourage smaller publishers to make existing and new journals available in electronic form.

The project was run by the Centre for Digital Library Research at the University of Strathclyde.

The SAPIENS live service is now available online
